Obituary for Rudolph V. Marcucci

Rudolph V. Marcucci, age 90, died Monday, January 29, 2018 after a brief illness. Born and raised in Beverly. He was the husband of the late Irene P. (Beaupre) Marcucci with whom he shared fifty-two years of marriage. He was the son of the late Arcangelo and Jennie (Pretola) Marcucci. He graduated from Beverly High School Class of 1944.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a longtime, active member of the VFW Witch City Post #1524 Salem, MA.

He worked for Sylvania as a glass technician in the lighting division for forty-two years. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Beverly, where he was a choir member for fifty-five years.

He also enjoyed entertaining people of all ages with his partner of many years, Ralph Rossetti. They were known as “The Comedy Team of Ralph and Rudy” and were well known on the North Shore nightclub circuit. In his later years, he sang with the Beverly Northshoreman Barbershop Chorus, along with entertaining veterans at the Chelsea Soldiers Home as well as his friends at the Danvers Senior Center. He also enjoyed painting, sketching, and caring for his yard.

Rudy’s family would like to thank the Life Care Center of Lynn for the care he received during his illness. We are most grateful to you all.

Surviving him is his son, Richard P. Marcucci and his wife Susan of Groveland; his daughter, Patricia A. Cullinane and husband Michael of Lynn; three grandchildren, Steven Marcucci and his wife Amanda, Amy Marcucci and Patrick Cullinane and his wife Laura; a sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Constantino and her husband Tony, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Patrick and Thomas “Jake” Marcucci; a sister, Frances Sciamanna; two nephews, Frank and Jimi Marcucci.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday in St John the Evangelist Church. 111 New Balch St, Beverly at 10a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Friday in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly from 4 - 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in St Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Danvers Council on Aging, Adult Supportive Day Program, 25 Stone St, Danvers, MA 01923.
