FRYEBURG, MAINE – Philip D. Wesley, Jr., 78, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at The Lafayette in Marblehead, MA following an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Bessie C. (Dossett) Wesley.
Born in Ipswich, MA on May 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Philip D. and Katherine M. (Doty) Wesley. A graduate of Somerville High School class of 1958, he had resided in Salem and Lynn, MA for many years before moving to Fryeburg in 2005.
Philip was employed as a forklift driver at the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. for many years before retiring in 2002. He had also once worked at Cott’s Bottling Co, for several years. He was an avid gardener, collected all things Coca Cola and loved spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife of fifty-seven years, he is survived by his two daughters, Mary Ellen Wesley and her companion, Robert Morse of Fryeburg, ME and Cynthia R. Flores and her husband, Boris of Lynn, MA; two sons, Philip D. Wesley, III of Rockport, MA and Peter P. Wesley of Lynn, MA; eight grandchildren, Joli, Dacey, Jason, Jeremy, Julianna, Greg and J.P. Wesley and Brandon Flores; one brother, Charles E. Saulnier of Danvers; cousin, Christine Marchulaitis (who was like a sister to him) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister, Maryellen Wesley.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
