Obituary for Michael P. Pierce

Beverly - Michael P. Pierce 82, beloved husband of Janice D. (Anderson) Pierce, died Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Stella Piecewicz. He graduated from St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College and earned his Law Degree from St. John’s University in New York.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army.

Mr. Pierce owned and operated Central Reservation Services of New England, Inc. at Logan Airport in Boston for the past forty years. Prior to that, he had worked as a manager of properties for Trans World Airlines and Pan American Airways. As a young man he served for five years as the village attorney for the Village of Rockville Centre, NY.

A longtime resident of Beverly, he was a former Board member of the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club and was active in the Beverly Boosters for many years. He was an avid sports fan watching his children and grandchildren play on many sports teams. He enjoyed all college and professional sports, especially Boston College and the Boston Red Sox.

In addition to his wife, with whom he shared thirty four years of marriage, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Vasseur and her husband, Thomas of Raleigh, NC and Diane Stephenson and her husband, Charles of Salt Lake City, UT, three sons, Kevin Pierce of Roanoke, TX, Kenneth Pierce and his wife, Carolyn of Beverly and Greg Pierce of Beverly, and eleven grandchildren, Katja, Richard, Kenneth, Kelly, Macy, Daniel, Tyler, Shea, Quinn, Carsyn and Alek. He was also the father of the late Michael P. Pierce Jr. and grandfather of the late Jack Stephenson. In addition Michael leaves many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

His funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, January 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made in his memory to Boystown (www.boystown.org ), Boys Town, 200 Flanagan Blvd, P.O.
