Obituary for Kenneth W. Parlee

Stoneham – Kenneth W. Parlee, age 89, beloved husband of Heather J. Parlee, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Bear Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stoneham with his loving wife by his side.
Born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of the late Walter A. and Bertha (Mulherin) Parlee. He was raised and educated in Somerville.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army.
Mr. Parlee had been employed for over thirty years as a meat inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture until the time of his retirement in 1995.
A resident of Stoneham for the past twenty years, he was a member of the American Legion in Somerville. He was a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, great grandfather, son-in-law, friend and neighbor who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ken Parlee and his wife, Debbie of Woburn and Steven Parlee of Charleston, SC, a step-daughter, Alison Yarjan of South Boston, four grandchildren, Kim Laing and her husband, David, Ken Parlee and his wife, Amy, Kasey Flowers and her husband, Jon and Kevin Parlee, five great grandchildren, Connor and Ryan Laing, Morgan and Kennedy Parlee and Gia Flowers and his devoted pet dog, “Molly.” He was also the brother of the late William A. Parlee.
His funeral service will be held in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St, Boston, MA 02114.
