Obituary for Janet Miriam Fortunato

BEVERLY – Janet M. (Chase) Fortunato, age 75 years, of Beverly, formerly of Lynnfield, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday morning, October 30, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Natick, she was the dear daughter of the late John and Miriam (Barr) Chase. She was a graduate of Lynnfield High School with the class of 1960.
Janet had been employed as an Administrative Assistant for many local companies in Beverly, including the Ventron Company, Beverly Times, Blueberry Hill Nursing Home and Johnny Appleseeds.
Janet was an extremely creative person, she enjoyed hand painting furniture, knitting and gardening. She was also a very talented artist and found peace in her work.
Surviving her are two daughters, Tracey Fortunato of Haverhill and Coreen Fortunato of Boston; one sister, Jacqueline Drinkwater and her husband Dennis of Magnolia; five grandchildren, Nicole, Julia and Alexandra Palizzolo and Leah and Trae Jackson; one great grandchild, Carter Greenlay and her former husband, Donald J. Fortunato of Danvers.

A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer Street, Lynnfield, Friday, November 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s name may be made to Care Dimensions, in care of the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 75 Sylvan Street, Ste. B-102, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements under the direction of the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA.
