Obituary for George G. Nardella Jr.

George G. Nardella, Jr., 89 years old, died peacefully at Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers, Massachusetts on January 10, 2018, with family by his side.

Born in Hackensack, N.J., lived in Lynn, MA, graduate of Lynn English. Married to high school sweetheart Martha (Soboczynski) for 55 years living in Beverly, and after retirement as a winter resident of Palm City, Florida. Son of the late George Nardella, Sr. and Rose (Renzi), and late brother Richard Nardella. George’s grandfather Antonio F. Renzi immigrated from San Giovanni, Italy and settled in Beverly in 1902. George’s parents George Sr. and Rose Nardella had Italian Grocery Stores in Beverly and Lynn in the 1940s where George Jr. worked with his parents helping out after school. George Sr. was a butcher in Henry’s Market from the 1950s until his retirement. George Jr. worked in the cutting shoe die industry for 45 years, ending out his career as shop supervisor for United Die Company.

Surviving him is a daughter, Donna Houton, son-in-law Thomas Houton, granddaughters, Janel Houton, her husband James Sullivan, great granddaughter, Karla, of Beverly, and Kendra Schmidt, her husband Joshua Schmidt, great grandson, Augustus of Seattle, WA, many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition, he leaves brother-in-law Alan Thomson of Ohio.

Visiting hours will be held at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, MA, on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. All funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s name can be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Ste. B-102, Danvers, MA, 01923.
