Obituary for George Abraham Morais

PEABODY- George A. Morais, age 76 years, passed away October 3, 2017 at Beverly Hospital after a lengthy battle with Diabetes and Kidney disease. Husband of Marian (Swirsky) Morais. Born in Jamaica. He was the son of the late Jasper and Louise (Nash) Morais.
Mr. Morais worked as an accountant for Rich’s Department Store and the Colonial Hotel in Wakefield for many years. He enjoyed a good meal, sports and Herman Spear Post dances. He was very proud to be from Jamaica and to become a United States citizen. Most of all he loved spending time and being involved with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving him in addition to his wife is a son, Paul Morais and his wife Erica of Peabody; a stepson David Fossa and his wife Kathryn of Middleton; a stepdaughter Cynthia Swift and her husband Darrell of Haverhill; two brothers, Paul Morais of SC and Norman “Sonny” Morais of FL; two sisters Althea Watson and Marjorie Dyer both of TX; seven grandchildren, Zachary, TJ, Ariana, Nicole, Kaelyn, Haylie and Carlie; five great grandchildren, Aubriella, Maisie, McKenna, Nola and Hadley.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, October 10 at 2pm to 4pm at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St, Beverly, MA 01915. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
