Obituary for David J. Scanlan, Jr.

BEVERLY – David J. Scanlan Jr., age 63 years, of Beverly, passed away on Saturday morning, December 30, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late David and Muriel (Sullivan) Scanlan. He was a graduate of Beverly High School.
Mr. Scanlan had been self-employed at Dave’s All Bright Painting for many years locally.
He was an avid outdoorsman and camper. He enjoyed motor cross, Jazz and knife collecting. His greatest joy was his daughters and grandchildren.
Surviving him are two daughters, Tara Mann and her husband Rick of PA and Erin Jackson and her husband Peter of Beverly; two grandchildren, Brianna and Olivia Wagner and one step-grandchild, Lily Jackson of Lunenberg and many close childhood friends. He was also the brother of the late Paula Scanlan.
His visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 1-3 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Service and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s name may be made to North Shore Cancer center payable to.
