Obituary for Carmen F. Barry

Beverly - Carmen R. (Osborn) Flynn Barry 86, beloved wife of the late Martin Francis Flynn III and the late Joseph D. Barry, died Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Beverly Hospital.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Jonathan and Rose Ann (Ducharme) Osborn. She graduated from St. Paul’s Catholic School in Salem where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Martin F. Barry III who was a Chief Master Petty Officer in the United States Navy. They travelled throughout the world, raising five children along the way.
Mrs. Barry had been employed for twenty five years at Harbor Sweets in Salem until the time of her retirement.
A resident of Beverly since 1970, Carmen dedicated most of her life to raising her family. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and an Auxiliary officer of the VFW Spear Post in Beverly. A strong and independent woman, Carmen enjoyed vacationing, cruises, visiting beaches and playing Bingo. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Waitt of Las Vegas, NV, three sons, Brian P. Flynn and his wife, Sharon of Bullhead, AZ, Kevin J. Flynn and his wife, Irene of Sanford, ME and Mark C. Flynn and his wife, Stacey of Myersville, MD, ten grandchildren, Matthew Waitt, Ryan Flynn, Patrick Flynn, Charles Flynn, Keziah Flynn, Abigail Flynn, Roldan Macanas Flynn, Patrick Flynn and Alexandra Flynn, six great grandchildren, Sophia and Colin, Alexis, Brea, Aidan and Eleanor, her extended family and lifelong friends, Charlene Tremblay, Noreen McInnis and Terry Sullivan and the late Donald and Patricia McInnis, the late Donna Purdy and the late Pattee Walsh. She was also the mother of the late Martin Francis Flynn IV and sister of the late May Hefdi, Carl Osborn and Allen Osborn.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch Street, Beverly, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com .
