Obituary for Adele M. Colby

BEVERLY - Adele M. (Gray) Colby, 102, died on Monday, September 24, 2018, at Blueberry Hill Healthcare following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edward B. Colby who died 2004.
Adele was a lifelong North Shore resident, born and raised in Saugus and moved to Beverly with her family in 1955. After a career in nursing, she and her late husband, enjoyed many happy years of retirement at home in Beverly, often wintering in Florida or camping in New Hampshire, as well as travelling to visit friends and family. Both were very fond of music and belonged to various choral groups. She was a longtime member of the Memorial Methodist Church in Beverly. She enjoyed embroidering and was also an avid antique collector.
She is survived by her three children, Judith Colby of Beverly, Peter Colby of Gloucester and Bruce Colby of Simpsonville, SC; two grandchildren, Neal Colby of Macedonia, OH and Jennifer Robinson of North Andover; two great grandchildren, Rebekah Robinson and Adam Robinson, both of Springfield, MO; two sisters, Ruth Robertson and Jean King, both of Saugus as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 1 - 3 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Living Faith United Methodist Church, 2 Dane St., Beverly, MA 01915. Interment will be in Central Cemetery, Beverly.
